WorldPride Amsterdam 2026: programme, Canal Parade and outfit tips

WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 concluded on Saturday 8 August. From Saturday 25 July through Saturday 8 August, Amsterdam spent two weeks focused on visibility, freedom, culture, human rights and celebration. For the first time, WorldPride took place in the Dutch capital, under the theme UNITY.

The Pride Walk, Canal Parade, Street Parties, MainStage Dam, UNITY Concert, Wedding Party XXL, Human Rights Conference, WorldPride March, WorldPride Village and Closing Concert have now all taken place.

Madonna performed during WorldPride Amsterdam

The rumours about Madonna coming to Amsterdam turned out to be true. On the night of Saturday 1 to Sunday 2 August, she performed at Club Confessions in AFAS Live as part of the WorldPride celebrations. Kylie Minogue appeared as a surprise guest and joined Madonna on stage.

The earlier speculation about a possible appearance is therefore outdated: Madonna was indeed in Amsterdam and her performance became one of the most notable musical moments of WorldPride 2026.

The closing day on Saturday 8 August

WorldPride Village

On the closing day, Museumplein formed the central meeting point for community organisations, culture, music and entertainment. The Village was open from 12:00 PM. Ticket checks for the Closing Concert began at 5:30 PM.

WorldPride March

On the final day, an explicitly internationally oriented march took place. The WorldPride March focused on visibility, solidarity and equal rights for LGBTQIA+ people worldwide.

Participants gathered from 3:00 PM at Martin Luther Kingpark. The march departed at 4:30 PM and followed Rijnstraat, Van Woustraat, Ceintuurbaan, Roelof Hartstraat and Van Baerlestraat to Museumplein. Participation was free. The march ended at Museumplein, where the Closing Concert began at 5:30 PM.

Closing Concert

After the WorldPride March arrived, WorldPride concluded with a large concert at Museumplein. Admission and the continuous programme started at 5:30 PM and the concert ran until 11:59 PM. Ticket checks remained open until 10:00 PM.

The announced line-up included Anita Doth, Child of Destiny, Daddy Pack, Diana King, Diva Mayday, Emmaly Brown, House of Spiders, House of Vineyard, Journey Gospel Choir, Lion Babe, Olly Alexander (Years & Years), Red Light Drag Cabaret (Casa Rosso) and The Blessed Madonna. Amber Vineyard and Janey Jacké hosted the evening.

According to the organisation, a regular ticket cost €22.50. Late and door sales cost €27.50 if still available. Early Bird tickets were sold out.

What should you wear to WorldPride Amsterdam?

WorldPride did not have a general dress code. During a march or the Canal Parade, comfortable shoes, light clothing and protection from sun or rain were especially practical. At the street parties and concerts, your look could of course be much more expressive.

Jockstrap, thong or brief

A colourful jockstrap, thong or brief could become a visible part of your Pride look. Combine it, for example, with open shorts, mesh trousers or a sheer layer.

For a long day, especially choose a style in which you can walk, dance and move comfortably. Consider bringing an extra pair if you are attending the parade during the day and want to continue partying in the evening.

Harness and clubwear

A harness immediately gives a simple outfit more character. Combine it with a jockstrap, shorts, mesh top or tank top. The sporty club looks from CELLBLOCK 13 and the harnesses and clubwear from LEADER suit larger Pride parties well.

Singlet or mesh

A singlet immediately creates a complete and distinctive party look. With mesh underwear and clubwear, you can instead combine different transparent layers.

Practical checklist for large Pride events

• Check tickets, times and routes on the day itself.
• Travel by public transport where possible.
• Bring comfortable shoes, sunscreen and rain protection.
• Use hearing protection at concerts and club parties.
• Bring a charged phone, power bank and ID.
• Check the rules for bags and other items in advance.
• Agree on a meeting point with friends in case of large crowds.
